Israel-Iran Ceasefire News LIVE Updates: Soon after US President Donald Trump announced a “complete and total” ceasefire between the two combatant nations, a fresh barrage of missiles from Iran hit a residential building in southern Israel, killing four people. The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic Seyed Abbas Araghchi has said there has been “no agreement” on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations with Israel yet. However, if Israel stops its “illegal aggression” now, Iran has no intention to continue its response, he added. While Israel has not responded to the ceasefire gambit by Trump,

Iran’s retaliation to US strikes: After the US attacked Iran’s nuclear sites with its B-2 bomber on June 22, Iran launched its retaliatory strikes by targeting America’s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on Monday night (around 10 pm IST). This triggered closures of air spaces in several gulf countries. Explosions were heard over Doha after Iran reportedly launched six missiles to target the US air base in the region. Iran’s state media has said the ceasefire has been “imposed” on Israel following the “successful” attack by Tehran’s forces in Qatar.

Tension in Middle East escalates outward: Threat levels in the Strait of Hormuz have been high since tension in the Israel-Iran conflict escalated. However, the movement of oil tankers have largely remained steady. Post Trump’s announcement of ceasefire, the Israeli military warned the residents of Tehran’s districts to evacuate immediately. Meanwhile, France has condemned an Israeli strike on Tehran’s Evin prison.
