Jim Miller is back in action as the 41-year-old looks to extend his record in the UFC of 27 wins. After fighting an impressive three times in 2024, Miller returns to the Octagon for his 58th professional MMA fight and he will be looking to pick up yet another win. He has won six of his last eight fights and comes off a first-round submission win over Damon Jackson at UFC 309.
For his first fight in 2025, Miller has been matched up against 25-year-old Chase Hooper in what will be a fascinating matchup. Hooper comes off a submission win over another veteran Clay Guida so he will relish the opportunity to face another UFC legend. Hooper has not had it all his own way since entering the UFC but he is maturing all the time and is riding a four-fight winning streak at present.
The bookies have Hooper as a huge favourite coming into this one but that seems somewhat harsh on the veteran. Miller has been written off so many times but manages to dig deep and defy logic. We think Hooper and Miller may cancel each other out and their submissions strengths and this fight could easily go the distance. If that is the case, we expect the younger man to outwork the veteran 16 years his senior.
