Runners worldwide prepare years for a moment like the 2025 London Marathon, which begins April 27.
The marathon welcomes all challengers, from newcomers to charity runners and some great athletes with extensive experience.
The 2024 Olympic gold medalist Alex Yee is a unique case since he is set to compete in his first marathon since winning gold. That is also the case for Eilish McColgan, who is fully back after recovering from multiple injuries over the years.
Other greats who have either won or finished with a great time at one of the seven Abbott World Marathon Majors that are confirmed to be competing include Alexander Mutiso, Kenenisa Bekele, and Emile Cairess.
