The Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs meet again tonight at Wrigley Field after a wild series opener.
Dave Roberts’ squad jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but Chicago stormed back with a five-run bottom half, cashing the game’s total in the opening frame.
The Cubs held a 7-5 lead heading into the top of the 7th, when the Dodgers erupted for five runs to take a 10-7 advantage.
Chicago responded with two runs in the bottom of the eighth to close the gap.
In the bottom of the ninth, catcher Miguel Amaya delivered the game’s most significant moment—a clutch two-out homer to tie it up.
The Cubs carried that momentum into extras, where Ian Happ walked it off in the 10th with an RBI single.
Los Angeles is likely to rely on its bullpen tonight, and it’s well-equipped to do so. The Dodgers’ bullpen ranks 11th among MLB relief units with a 3.67 ERA. Expect them to keep the Cubs’ lineup in check.
Meanwhile, Chicago starting pitcher Matthew Boyd could have trouble containing a deep and dangerous Dodgers offense.
