Maryland football defensive lineman Jordan Phillips was drafted in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins Saturday. Phillips, the third Terp taken in the draft, was selected No. 143 overall.
Phillips transferred to Maryland in 2023 after spending his freshman season at Tennessee. He played in all 25 games over the past two seasons, totaling 57 tackles (31 solo) and three tackles for loss.
The redshirt sophomore impressed at the NFL Draft Combine, bench pressing 29 reps, the most of any defensive lineman. He also measured in at 6-foot-2 and 312 pounds.
NFL Next Gen Stats also scored Phillips a 61 — the average — which placed him 34th among all defensive tackles. He was the 21st defensive tackle selected in the draft.
At 20 years old, Phillips was one of the youngest players in this year’s draft.
