Masters Week is only a few days away. Will the sun shine over Augusta or will you need to buy an umbrella from the Augusta National gift shop?
Forecasts are very clear for events like the women’s amateur, which is already underway, and will continue to get clearer as we get closer to the Masters Tournament. For now, here are the latest weather updates:
What will the weather be like for the Masters practice rounds?
Practice rounds for the Masters are Monday, April 7 and Tuesday, April 8. Here’s the forecast:
- April 7: There’s a strong chance (more than 70%) that Sunday’s rain will continue Monday until 1 p.m. There may be some letup going into the afternoon, but there’s close to a 50/50 shot it will last all evening too. Winds will be fairly weak and temperatures will hover around 65 degrees for most of the day.
- April 8: The second practice round has a good chance of being a beautiful one. Sunny skies with little-to-no chance of clouds are very likely, but it won’t be too hot, with temperatures sitting at about 50 degrees first thing in the morning and only rising to about 66 degrees in the afternoon.
What will the weather be like for the Par 3 Contest?
The Masters Tournament Par 3 Contest is Wednesday, April 9. It’s looking like another pretty one with sunny skies and very little (if any) clouds. The morning might be a bit brisk with temperatures below 50 degrees before 10 a.m. warming to 62 degrees by the afternoon. Winds may only be up to 7 mph.
What will the weather be like for the Masters Tournament?
The Masters Tournament is Thursday, April 10 through Sunday, April 13. Early reports indicated a very rainy Masters, but luckily, AccuWeather’s long-range forecasts are looking a bit better:
- April 10: Sunny skies with temperatures feeling like 73-75 degrees and very little cloud cover. There will be little wind and almost no chance of rain.
- April 11: 85% cloud coverage with a 81% chance of rain. Those showers could be an all-day thing, with about a 16% chance of it turning into a thunderstorm. Temperatures will feel like 72 for the most part.
- April 12: There will likely be more rain, but it should end in the morning and there’s currently almost no chance of it turning into a thunderstorm. It will still be somewhat cloudy in the afternoon. Temperatures will largely feel like 74 degrees.
- April 13: While there won’t be any rain, the end of the Masters will still be cloudy starting at close to 50% coverage in the morning increasing to almost complete coverage by the afternoon. Temperatures will feel like 70 degrees for most of the day.
What will the weather be like for the Augusta National Women’s Amateur?
The Augusta National Women’s Amateur starts Wednesday and runs through Saturday, April 5. It’s looking like a largely warm one with high humidities, a lot of clouds, and some occasional sunshine. Click here for a more detailed breakdown.
What will the weather be like for the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals?
The Drive, Chip, and Putt National Finals are on Sunday, April 6. The morning temperatures will largely be alright (below 75 before 10 a.m.) but it may still be warm due to humidity levels north of 70%, according to the Weather Channel’s hourly data. Winds will range about 10-14 mph all day.
Going into the afternoon, it will likely stay warm, with humidities dropping but temperatures reaching 85 degrees by 3-4 p.m. But good and bad news: You’ll very likely be cooled down by rain starting at 4 p.m. which will last through the night.
