The 10-seed Dallas Mavericks won their opening NBA Play-In game against the Sacramento Kings Wednesday. Their reward is a road game against the Memphis Grizzlies to determine the round one matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Despite being on the road, Dallas pummeled the Kings and have to feel great about this matchup. The Grizzlies fumbled against the Golden State Warriors and have an injured Ja Morant to worry about prior to this game. Let’s get to what else matters with this game:
- WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Memphis Grizzlies
- WHAT: The second NBA Play-In game for the Dallas Mavericks
- WHERE: FedEx Forum, Memphis, Tennessee
- WHEN: 8:30 pm CST
- HOW: ESPN, and Playback with Kirk and David
Anthony Davis and Brandon Williams are each listed as probable. The injury report is clean, past Kyrie Irving and O-Max being out. For Memphis, Brandon Clarke and Jaylen Wells are out for the year. Ja Morant has an ankle injury, he’s listed as questionable, but I don’t see him missing this game.
Well… this is weird. Depending on your point of view, it could be good weird! An actual chance to make the playoffs and face the Oklahoma City Thunder! Bad weird, well, Dallas slips in the draft if they win, out of the lottery entirely in a very interesting NBA Draft. I plan on enjoying the basketball as best I can.
As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embedded below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also, consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start after the game. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
