Before Miley Cyrus releases her new album, Something Beautiful, she brought something beautiful to the Met Gala red carpet, where she returned for the first time in six years.
Tonight, Cyrus hit the Met steps wearing an all-black look comprised of an ab-baring cropped leather jacket and a voluminous black maxi skirt with a drop-waist silhouette. To accessorize, she punctuated the look with jewelry from Cartier.

The last time the “End of the World” singer attended the fundraiser was in 2019, where she was arm-in-arm with her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, who she divorced the following year. For that event, Cyrus wore a green-and-black striped minidress from Saint Laurent, which Hemsworth matched with an all-black tuxedo.
While taking a hiatus, Cyrus has certainly been missed on the first Monday in May, where she was a regular throughout the 2010s. Previously, the Disney alum attended Met Galas for the “Punk: Chaos to Couture,” “China: Through the Looking Glass,” “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” and “Camp: Notes on Fashion” themes. Now, it’s great to see her finally making her return.
Cyrus previously opened up about her evolving sense of style during an appearance on Harper’s Bazaar’s podcast, The Good Buy. “My personal style is in the moment. I am committed while also being completely detached. That’s who I am,” she said. “That’s like being in a relationship with me, that’s being a friend of mine, that’s being related to me. At all times, I am fully convinced until I’m not. And then I am done with it. I have moved on.”
