A Princeton University undergraduate student who had been missing since last weekend has been found dead, the school said in a statement Friday.
PRINCETON, N.J. — A Princeton University undergraduate student who had been missing since last weekend has been found dead.
The body of Lauren Blackburn was found at Lake Carnegie on Friday morning, Princeton said in a statement.
The lake is adjacent to Princeton’s campus.
“Our hearts are heavy and we share our deepest condolences with Lauren’s family and friends,” the statement continued.
There was no immediate word on the cause of Blackburn’s death.
Blackburn had been last seen around 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 near the Firestone Library.
Crews had been searching Lake Carnegie and the surrounding area this week.

I am deeply saddened to share with you that the body of Lauren Blackburn ’26 was found at Lake Carnegie this morning. Our hearts are heavy and we share our deepest condolences with Lauren’s family and friends.
It is during these difficult times that we must draw strength and support from one another and from those in our community who are available to us for counsel and care. Students should not hesitate to reach out to Counseling and Psychological Services (which can be reached 24 hours a day at 609-258-3141), Office of Religious Life chaplains, residential college staff, and Graduate School staff.
