Biggest Risers
Cleveland Guardians (+6)
The Guardians went 5-1 this past week, sweeping the Pirates and taking two of three from the Yankees. Designated hitter Kyle Manzardo is among the league leaders with seven home runs, while Jose Ramirez is putting together another great season.
New York Mets (+5)
The Mets have won seven in a row, including a three-game series sweep of the division rival Phillies. They lead MLB with a 2.34 team ERA, while their starters lead the league with a 2.33 ERA.
Houston Astros (+5)
A series win over the Padres and a three-game sweep against the Blue Jays has the Astros firmly in the mix in the wide open AL West. The Astros have one of the best bullpens in the league, with a combined 2.62 ERA.
Biggest Fallers
Toronto Blue Jays (-5)
The Blue Jays have lost five in a row against the AL West. They’ve only hit 13 home runs this year, which ranks 29th in MLB, only ahead of the Royals with 12.
Arizona Diamondbacks (-4)
The Diamondbacks are playing well, but are somehow fourth in their division. Pitching has been a concern, with a team ERA of 4.28 that ranks 21st in MLB.
Baltimore Orioles (-4)
The Orioles pitching has been atrocious — and that may be putting it lightly. Orioles starters have a combined ERA of 5.82, which is ahead of only the Rockies at 5.91. Their bullpen ERA of 4.48 ranks 23rd in MLB.
