What do Packers fans think of third-round pick Savion Williams?
Christopher Kuhagen
The Green Bay Packers must love how their defense looks — or like what the later rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft will bring.
The team hasn’t picked a defensive player through the first three rounds of the NFL Draft after taking another wide receiver April 25 to wrap up their picks for the day.
A day after ending their first-round wide receiver drought by picking Texas’ Matthew Golden, the Packers added another offensive threat in TCU speedster Savion Williams in the third round.
Earlier in the night, the Packers selected offensive tackle Anthony Belton of North Carolina State.
Packers fans social media were split on the Williams pick.

An Escalade will be pulling up to Green Bay this fall.
The Green Bay Packers selected offensive tackle Anthony “Escalade” Belton in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft on April 25, giving a massive body up-front to protect quarterback Jordan Love.
The 6-foot-6, 336-pound lineman was the 54th overall pick in the draft. He might not have received the loud ovation from fans in attendance at the draft that wide receiver Matthew Golden did April 24, but don’t expect him to get pushed around.

Seth Rollins is having himself a week.
The WWE superstar won the main event at WrestleMania on April 19 and on April 25 he was at the NFL Draft to make the Chicago Bears’ second-round pick.
Rollins had a customized Bears-themed WWE title belt draped over his shoulder as he announced the team’s pick of Boston College offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo.
And in typical Rollins fashion, his fit game was on point with a glittery, midnight blue suit and chunky, white shades.
He has been a frequent guest of the Bears at games over the years.
Rollins is riding a high following his win in the triple threat match over Roman Reigns and CM Punk on Night 1 of WrestleMania in Las Vegas.

What jersey number will Matthew Golden wear with the Packers?
JR Radcliffe
Matthew Golden may not be returning kicks for the Green Bay Packers, but he’s invoking a “Special Team” with his jersey-number assignment. And you’ll love the real-time reaction of a former Packers player who once wore it.
The Packers have bestowed No. 81 to the first-round draft pick, a number most famously worn by Super Bowl XXXI MVP Desmond Howard, who’s on hand at the NFL draft in Green Bay as a media analyst on ABC, part of the “College Gameday” booth.
Howard, as it happens, was relaying his recollections of that game when his fellow analysts alerted him to “breaking news” that the Packers had posted to social media the number.
“Oh wow, that’s a good thing,” Howard said. “I approve of that.”

Trump rips NFL owners for passing on Shedeur Sanders in first round of NFL Draft
Emmett Prosser
The somewhat surprising and dramatic NFL draft plunge of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has reached The Oval Office.
President Donald Trump is also one of many NFL draft analysts this weekend.
All 32 NFL teams passed on Sanders on April 24 in the first round and Trump (who once drafted Herschel Walker No. 1 when he owned the USFL’s New Jersey Generals) appears ready to fire every owner of a team that needs a quarterback after posting his displeasure about Sanders still being available.
“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID?” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social April 25. “Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be “picked” IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!”

LeRoy Butler has ‘issue’ with Green Bay Packers over snub at NFL Draft
Christopher Kuhagen
LeRoy Butler has represented the Green Bay Packers as a guest announcer on stage at past NFL Drafts and delivered some memorable moments.
He was hoping he would get the chance to do it again. After all, the draft has come to Green Bay for the first time. Butler, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2022, spent his entire career with the Packers, invented the Lambeau Leap and continues to be a big supporter of the team.
But the team has gone with other Packers legends for night 2 of the NFL Draft.
“First of all, I do have an issue,” Butler said to Kay Adams on the “Up & Adams Show” on April 25. “I’ve done four or five draft picks off premises. Now it’s in my backyard and I don’t do a pick.”

205,000.

How does that compare to last year’s draft? 275,000 people were in attendance of Day 1 in Detroit.
In Green Bay, the NFL expected 250,000 fans throughout the three-day event. That’s way more than double Green Bay’s population of about 107,000.
Time will soon tell how many fans the second day of the draft will draw.
