The New York Jets have traded pick #186 and a 2026 fifth round pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for pick #176 and a 2026 sixth round pick. With pick #176 in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft the Jets selected edge rusher Tyler Baron out of Miami.
Tyler Baron is a well-built 6’ 5”, 258 pound edge rusher. He has good speed, length and strength for the position. He led Miami in tackles for loss and sacks in 2024 after racking up 13.5 sacks in four years at Tennessee. The Jets have a need at edge rusher, with Jermaine Johnson coming off a torn achilles tendon and Will McDonald best suited for a pass rush specialist role. The opportunity is there for Baron. He is unlikely to start for the Jets in 2025, but he could develop into a nice role on the defensive line over time.
Barring any last minute trades, the selection of Baron completes the New York Jets 2025 draft.
