DENVER — Nuggets star guard Jamal Murray, who was added to the injury report Thursday with an illness, started Game 6 as Denver faces elimination against the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder.
He had been listed as questionable for Thursday’s game, with interim coach David Adelman saying Murray was “definitely sick.” Murray was cleared about 45 minutes before tipoff.
Denver is 8-3 when Murray has played in games with the Nuggets facing elimination. He has averaged 27.8 points and 5.2 assists in those games, according to ESPN Research.
Murray, Denver’s second-leading scorer, is averaging 22.3 points and 5.3 assists during the playoffs.
He is coming off a 28-point performance in Tuesday’s Game 5 loss, but he was only 10-of-27 from the floor and missed nine of his last 10 attempts as Oklahoma City rallied from a 12-point deficit.
