LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – A tornado warning was issued for northwestern Lawrence County, Ohio until 9:15 p.m. Friday.
It has since expired.
The National Weather Service posted later Friday night that there were public reports of wind damage, including trees knocked over and a roof torn off.
“This damage will be investigated for the possibility of a tornado,” the NWS posted.
The agency said the damage was reported around 8:45 p.m. in an area about 6 miles north northwest of Lake Vesuvius.
That’s in an area just west of state Route 93, along Mt. Vernon-Howard Ridge Road.
The NWS issued the alert after a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Franklin Furnace, moving east.
