WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Mets are riding high heading into a road series against the Nationals on Friday night in the nation’s capital. And now, they also get Jeff McNeil and Francisco Alvarez back from injury.
The Mets (18-7) enter the series on a seven-game win streak after sweeping the Cardinals across four games and Phillies in three contests during their most recent seven-game homestand .

The Nationals (11-4) are coming off a three-game series win over their local rivals, the Baltimore Orioles/
Kodai Senga (3-1, 0.79) will look to grab a victory in his fourth straight start after he held the Cardinals, Athletics and Marlins all scoreless across 17⅔ combined innings in his last three outings. He will be going up against Nationals righty Jake Irvin (2-0, 3.68) who struck out nine in a win over the Rockies last time out.
McNeil (oblique) and Alvarez (broken hamate bone in left hand) were both reinstated from the 10-day injured list on Thursday. Brett Baty and Hayden Senger were optioned to Triple-A Syracuse to make room on the roster.
