NEW YORK — The series opener between the Mets and Dodgers is going to take a little longer than expected.
Friday night’s game between the two teams entered a rain delay in the top of the third inning with a pair of Dodgers runners on base and two outs as Mets starter Griffin Canning faced Freddie Freeman.
The game resumed at 9:35 p.m.
The Citi Field scoreboard showed Game 2 of the NBA Eastern Conference finals between the Knicks and Pacers during the delay for fans in attendance.
