PONCHATOULA, La. (WVUE) – The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival was abruptly shut down Saturday night after a person was shot on the festival grounds, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement officials confirmed the shooting in a statement posted to social media around 9 p.m.

The victim’s condition has not yet been released, and authorities have not provided details about a suspect or motive.
