WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR APRIL 7
Junkies down in Brooklyn are going crazy, they’re laughing just like hungry dogs in the street. Policemen are hiding behind the skirts of little girls, their eyes have turned the color of frozen meat, but me? I’m just here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with the usual montage of talent arriving at the arena.
We get a recap of last week’s WWE Women’s World Championship match.
Raw general manager Adam Pearce is in the ring with the title and he gets on the mic.
He gets down to business and says we all saw what took place last week and because of that, the situation at WrestleMania needs to be addressed, so he introduces our champion, IYO SKY. She’s wearing a very charming white bustier styled like a blazer over shiny pinstripe booty shorts with black lace-up knee boots, and I like the idea of it but something isn’t quite coming together about the outfit.
Pearce introduces Bianca Belair next, and since I wrote about what IYO’s wearing I have to acknowedge the EST’s custom black leather (real or fake I dunno) EST tie-up crop top and pleated miniskirt, with matching thigh boots and opera gloves, which I mean I always hate ties for autistic reasons but it’s a good look.
Rhea Ripley is of course next, kinda phoning it in in a black leather lace-up vest, torn black jean shorts, and (sing it with me) Roddy Strong-style shitty little boots. But hey when you got a gimmick that works for you, you’ll never look bad when you work the gimmick, even if the outfit seems a little uninspired.
Adam (who, for completeness sake, is wearing a purple suit like he’s Bruce Banner, which feels like he’s probably trying to send a signal) berates them, saying he assumed they could have handled this like professionals but now it’s incumbent on him to fix the problem and he gets right to it— it’s a triple threat match and he needs three signatures on the contract.
Belair says a couple of weeks ago this would have really pissed her off, but after all she’s been through since Elimination Chamber she knows she can overcome a triple threat and she’s gonna walk out of WrestleMania as champion and she’s gonna go through Ripley to do it, and she signs it.
Rhea starts talking but Bianca cuts her off and tells her to just shut up and sign, and Ripley does so before throwing the contract back at the EST. They square up, IYO steps up and Rhea shoves her away. SKY throws the mic down and stomps off without signing the contract.
She goes to the apron, Adam tries to talk sense into the other two and springboards into them to lay them out! IYO signs the contract and leaves with her title over her shoulder!
We get a recap of our Intercontinental Championship scene and the four-way that Pearce set up.
Cut to the Judgment Day clubhouse where Finn Balor is surprisingly even-keeled about Dominik Mysterio being in the match. Liv Morgan says it doesn’t matter which of them win and Finn makes a show of agreeing before saying people are saying that Dom doesn’t have what it takes, he doesn’t have the killer instinct, he’s a loser, but he’s got a chance to prove them wrong by beating Penta all by himself, and Finn believes him.
Mysterio is worried about fighting alone but Carlito appears out of nowhere to tell him he’ll have his back.
We see Bayley and Lyra Valkyria walking backstage and we go to break.
