Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick were among the stars who hit the opening night of Smash on Broadway.

On Thursday, April 10, the married pair of actors walked the red carpet at the Imperial Theatre in New York City, where the new musical — a stage adaptation of the fan-favorite NBC series, itself about the making of a fictional Marilyn Monroe bio-musical called Bombshell — is now in performances.

With the couple were two very special people: their 13-year-old twin daughters, Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell.

All were dressed to the nines for the event. Parker was in head-to-toe black, wearing a long coat over a dress with lace details and a sparkling ballerina-length skirt. Broderick, meanwhile, looked sharp in a blue suit with a paisley-printed tie and a white shirt.

Their girls both were equally formal, Tabitha Hodge rocked a green dress with a turquoise coat, while Marion Loretta Elwell covered her detailed black dress with a cream-colored coat.

Parker, 60, and Broderick, 63, will celebrate 28 years of marriage in May.

The couple have been longtime supporters of Smash. They were famously at the premiere of the NBC series Smash back in 2012.

That’s because the duo are longtime friends of Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. The Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning composing team (Hairspray, Mary Poppins ReturnsSome Like It Hot) wrote original songs for Bombshell, the show-within-a-show on the TV serie

Those songs — like “The 20th Century Fox Mambo,” “They Just Keep Moving the Line” and the Emmy-nominated “Let Me Be Your Star” — have been carried over for the stage musical of Smash. They’re incorporated into a new comedic tale from book writers Rick Elice (Jersey Boys, Peter and the Starcatcher) and Bob Martin (a Tony winner for writing The Drowsy Chaperone).

Robyn Hurder, Brooks Ashmanskas, Krysta Rodriguez, John Behlmann, Kristine Nielsen, Jacqueline B. Arnold, Nicholas Matos, Bella Coppola, Caroline Bowman and Casey Garvin lead the cast of Smash.

The company is made up of Wendi Bergamini, Sarah Bowden, Jacob Burns, Deanna Cudjoe, Chelle Denton, Daniel Gaymon, Ndaya Dream Hoskins, Merritt David Janes, Megan Kane, David Paul Kidder, Ian Liberto, Libby Lloyd, McGee Maddox, Connor McRory, J Savage, Jake Trammel and Katie Webber.

Tony Award-winner Susan Stroman directs, while Emmy Award-winning choreographer Joshua Bergasse recreates and expands upon his work from the TV series. Smash producers Robert Greenblatt, Neil Meron and Steven Spielberg produce again, alongside EGOT winner and season 2 Smash star Jennifer Hudson (among others).

In addition to Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell, Parker and Broderick also share son James Wilkie, 22. And while he’s keen to carve his name in the acting world, at least one of his twins isn’t.

She’s “repelled” by the idea of performing, Broderick told PEOPLE earlier this month at the 2025 SeriousFun Children’s Network Gala, without naming which one. “If you say, ‘What about you?’ she says ‘Nope, no absolutely not.’ “

Tickets for Smash are now on sale.
