Georgia’s own Shannon Sharpe, the legendary NFL star and ESPN personality, is facing a $50 million lawsuit alleging sexual assault and battery.
The lawsuit, filed in a Nevada state court by a woman suing under the name Jane Doe, details a two-year relationship where Sharpe has been accused of assault, sexual assault, battery, and sexual battery, according to ProFootballTalk.
The lawsuit alleges incidents in October of 2024 and in January of 2025. The former Savannah State football star and Pro Football Hall of Famer has stepped down from his position with ESPN because of the allegations.

The 56-year-old Sharpe, the younger brother of former NFL star Sterling Sharpe, grew up in Glennville, GA. He went to Glennville High School and then attended Savannah State University in 1986, where he played football and basketball.

Since September of 2023, Sharpe appeared as a recurring panelist on ESPN’s “First Take.” He also hosted the podcast “Club Shay Shay”.
Sharpe, currently residing at his $2 million Georgia home, has stepped down from his ESPN role amidst the scandal, according to numerous reports.

According to Finurah, Sharpe’s 6,718-square-foot home is in the Atlanta-area, with six bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.
He purchased this estate over 30 years ago, in 1994 for $625,000; although, Realtor.com estimated it to be worth about $2 million now.
