Severe storm risk continues for Tuesday, Thursday in Middle TN, KY

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — While everyone will have to face the very warm temperatures over the next few days, some areas will see a few strong to severe thunderstorms on Tuesday and again on Thursday. Our team of WKRN meteorologists has called for weather alerts on these two days.

We’ll first talk about Tuesday, and further down, a look at Thursday. For Tuesday, the Storm Prediction Center has placed a Slight Risk (level 2/5) along and just south of Interstate 40 areas, and northward into Southern Kentucky. Also, a Marginal Risk (level 2/5) for most of Middle Tennessee south of I-40.

The threat has increased slightly for our area in the last 24 hours. Due to daytime heating and temperatures in the 80s to near 90 and sufficient moisture, this will help storm development for Tuesday afternoon.

The primary storm threats will be damaging winds and hail. The tornado risk is very low, but not impossible.
