Today is a Severe Weather Alert Day with storms late in the day. Severe Weather Alert DayAhead of an approaching cold front there will be a summer-like surge, this afternoon, with some sun and temps in the low/mid 80s.Most of the thunderstorm activity holds off until late day. The best chance for storms will be with a line crossing the evening hours and a second line, later Tuesday night. Damaging winds, large hail, heavy rain, lightning and an isolated tornado are possible.Most of the activity will clear the area entirely by midnight Wednesday. Any leftover showers will wrap up early Wednesday morning.Looking ahead to Marathon weekendScattered showers will return Thursday afternoon and Friday. Neither day looks to be a washout at this point.The late-week showers may linger into the day on Saturday. It will turn cooler for weekend Marathon events. Highs Saturday and Sunday will be in the 60s with morning lows in the 40s.
