CLEVELAND — We have our first winner of the new Mega Millions game format — and the lucky lottery ticket was purchased right here in Northeast Ohio!
One lucky player won the jackpot worth $112 million in the Friday, April 18 drawing. The winning ticket was sold at the Giant Eagle location at 4401 Mayfield Rd. in South Euclid.
The winning lottery numbers for the Friday night drawing are 5, 13, 15, 17, 28 and Mega Ball 1.
The winner chose their own numbers and matched all five plus the Mega Ball to bring home the prize. They can now select an annuity paid over 30 years or a cash option of $49.3 million. The winner has 180 days to claim the jackpot.
Aside from the big winner, the Ohio Lottery says thousands of other people won various prizes throughout the Buckeye State:

The Mega Millions jackpot now resets to $50 million with a cash option worth $22.4 million. The next drawing will take place at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22.
In the new version of the Mega Millions game, lottery officials say the odds of winning the jackpot have improved from one in 302,575,350 to one in 290,472,336.
