South Carolina women’s basketball fell 82-59 to UConn in the national championship on Sunday, ending its season at 35-4. The Gamecocks finished No. 2 in the final polls of the season, with the Huskies at No. 1.
The transfer portal opened March 24, when South Carolina was still playing in the NCAA tournament but the portal closes on April 22.
Bree Hall, Sania Feagin and Te-Hina Paopao have no eligibility left, leaving holes for Staley to fill in the roster next season. She’s signed incoming freshman Agot Makeer and Ayla McDowell out of high school.

Ta’niya Latson, Florida State: Staley secured the No. 1 transfer in the portal and the country’s leading scorer this season via the portal on Tuesday. Latson transfered to South Carolina from FSU after averaging 25. 2 points this season. She’s never averaged less than 21 points per game in a season and in the NCAA tournament loss to LSU, she finished with 30. The 5-foot-8 guard played high school basketball with Raven Johnson.
