Spectator Information: First place ‘Caps take on Austin during Women & Girls in Sport celebration

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC are back on top of the overall MLS standings with a 5W-1L-1D record. On Saturday, your ‘Caps will look to continue that run versus Austin FC at BC Place, with an earlier kickoff at 4:30 p.m. PT.

As part of the fesitivites, Whitecaps FC will be celebrating Women & Girls in Sport.

Below is important information for fans attending the match.

  • 80 girls from Surrey School District, IYSA, and Canada Scores will take part in a pre-match soccer clinic celebrating Women & Girls in Sport
  • Following the clinic, participants will enjoy an event at the BC Sports Hall of Fame prior to the match
  • Vancouver Rise FC will be attending Saturday’s match!
  • Keep an eye out and make sure to cheer them on as they get set to open the inaugural Northern Super League season on April 16 versus Calgary Wild FC at BC Place

Whitecaps FC are honoured to have Moqadasa Nawa from Girls Who LEAP as Kid Captain for Saturday’s match versus Austin FC.

Moqadasa loves to challenge herself and learn new things. She likes to stay active by playing multiple sports year-round. Through Girls Who LEAP, she makes extra efforts to give back to her community by mentoring younger children and volunteering in extracurricular programs every week. Moqadasa enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.

Saturday’s Supporters of the Match will be Dean and Shirley Neibel from the Prawnsiders.

They have been supporting the ‘Caps since 1978 and their favourite memory is winning the Cascadia Cup in Seattle. Their favourite part about being in a supporters group is being part of a community and cheering on the ‘Caps.
