Last night Hollywood truly shone as celebrities dazzled. The long-awaited 97th Academy Awards ceremony, which took place on Sunday, March 2, 2025, was hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien and included performances from Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo (Wicked co-stars), British singer Raye and Doja Cat. The best picture award went to Anora. Mikey Madison was crowned best actress in her role in Anora and Adrien Brody received the award for best actor in The Brutalist.
One of the most anticipated events in the entertainment world, the Oscars is the highlight of Hollywood’s glamorous calendar and a showcase for extraordinary gowns. Placed between Milan and Paris Fashion Week, it captures everyone’s attention, and designers and stylists prepare for it months in advance.

Preparing For The Oscars
Creating the perfect look is no mean feat for celebrities and their style teams, as it’s all about sending the right message through their designer choices. As fashion commentator and host of Fashion News, Bernard Garby said in his newsletter this weekend, fashion is at its best when it is a mixture of beauty, taste, craft, message and, in fact, when it acts as a mirror of the world we live in. In addition, “fashion can serve as a welcome distraction, an escapism, a source of inspiration or it can be symbolic of the times in which we live,” he said.
Red Carpet Winners
This year, as usual, there were highs and lows, lots of drama, and, of course, the most beautiful gowns. On the red carpet, we were truly spoilt as we saw the stars gracefully arrive.
Here are the best-dressed celebrities and favorite outfits from the stellar attendees. Many chose classic looks in black or silver. A trend towards soft pastel colors and flowing shapes was also spotted, and we also saw some strong silhouettes. Menswear was also divided between a classic tux approach and a more experimental one where color and textures were explored.
The Winning Looks
Selena Gomez opted for a spectacular Ralph Lauren dress that evoked the glamour of the 1950s, which she accessorized with a classic necklace. It was embellished with over 16,000 drops of glass and hand-sewn Rosemont crystals, creating a fantastic pattern.
