Despite initially saying they wouldn’t be in Green Bay due to a conflict with the NFL, Pat McAfee and his crew will broadcast ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” from Green Bay during the 2025 NFL draft after all.
And former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy will be joining him on Thursday night’s broadcast.
McAfee will also be joined by cohost and former Green Bay Packers linebacker A.J. Hawk. When he first said the show would not be coming to Green Bay, McAfee mentioned another person joining the show might have “a very massive tie in Green Bay.” Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has famously been a regular guest on the show.
“The Pat McAfee Show” has over 2 million subscribers on YouTube and has garnered millions of views across all platforms. McAfee is a former NFL punter for the Indianapolis Colts, where he was First-team All-Pro in 2014.
ESPN says McAfee’s team will add to the “all-encompassing” coverage of the draft’s first round with “The Pat McAfee Show Draft Spectacular” ― live from Green Bay and available across YouTube, TikTok, the ESPN App and streaming on ESPN+.
NFL DRAFT HUB: Live NFL Draft news, live picks, grades, analysis and more.
“The Spectacular” will cover all 32 picks on Thursday night. ESPN says McAfee’s team will be joined by “notable personalities” as they analyze and discuss each pick. McAfee recently announced on his show that McCarthy, former Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys head coach, will be joining the show on Thursday night.
“The Pat McAfee Show” set will be located just off the Lambeau Field Atrium, according to ESPN.
“The Pat McAfee Show” will again broadcast from Green Bay on Friday. ESPN says fans can expect “many notable guests” on Friday’s show, which will broadcast from noon to 2 p.m. ET on ESPN and noon to 3 p.m. on ESPN+ and ESPN on YouTube.
McAfee previously said he wouldn’t broadcast from Green Bay for the draft
In March, McAfee announced that his “Draft Spectacular LIVE” show would not be in Green Bay and instead would be broadcast from his ThunderDome in Indianapolis, where the show is usually hosted.
“(I) wanted to go to Green Bay, have a lot of ties to Green Bay. The person joining us might have a very massive tie in Green Bay,” McAfee said. “But, not in the cards.”
McAfee explained that issues for hosting his show at the 2025 NFL draft stemmed from where his show would be set, how things would go, and what McAfee and the crew would have to do.
“Flexing power, while also showing disdain for me and my show and my guys,” was how McAfee described that interaction. “I don’t want to play their games, so we’re not going to the draft.”
