‘The White Lotus’ Season 4 Location

The White Lotus is wrapping up its propulsive third season, and now there’s nothing to do but sit around and wait for season 4. Questions? Who will be cast, which familiar faces will be re-cast, and what swanky hotel will set the stage for a new murder? Not much has been released about The White Lotus season 4 location just yet, but here’s what we know so far.

It’ll Likely Take Place at a Four Seasons Resort

The White Lotus season 1 took place at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea and season 2 was filmed at San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel. Meanwhile, HBO and Four Seasons announced a formal partnership ahead of season 3 (which was was filmed at Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui).

HBO

“Formalizing our partnership with HBO and Max marks an exciting milestone in our journey together, embracing a cultural phenomenon that blends exceptional storytelling with the universal love of travel,” Four Seasons VP Marc Speichert said in a statement, while HBO VP Pia Barlow added “The White Lotus has always been about blending authentic beauty and culture with compelling storytelling, which makes our partnership with Four Seasons an ideal fit.”

There Are Rumors Season 4 Will Take Place in Norway

Sleuthy Redditors found an article published in a Norwegian newspaper, which apparently claims The White Lotus production team applied for a grant from the Norwegian Film Institute. Which could mean a skiing season is in the works?

But…Norway Doesn’t Have a Four Seasons

Which means that—unless HBO is ending their partnership with the hotel—this Norway theory is false. Meanwhile, producer David Bernad said on The Bill Simmons Podcast that a “skiing season” is unlikely to happen because “Mike [White] does not like the cold…I feel confident we’ll never do a season in the cold. Mike is not built for…he’s a California guy, he’s not built for the cold. Never say never, but I would be surprised.”

Back in February, Parade spoke to a source who floated that season 4 could take place in either Egypt or Mexico.

“Right now, it’s looking like the next season of The White Lotus will be shot in Egypt or Mexico,” the insider said. “They want to pick somewhere they haven’t shot yet, so a new continent. They want to go somewhere completely new since this season is in Asia, which is why they’re between the two. The decision should be made soon.”

This source also indicated that HBO will continue its partnership with the Four Seasons, noting that the production team has a specific resort “in mind” for each potential location.
