On the night of Thursday, April 24, 32 former college athletes will hear their names called in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft.

Among those expected to be selected in the top five picks is former Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, who ended his collegiate career by becoming the first player in college football history to win both the Chuck Bednarik Award, as the nation’s top defensive player, and the Fred Biletnikoff Award, as the nation’s best wide receiver.

While he’ll likely play just one position in the NFL, he’ll have the chance to moonlight on either side of the ball for the team that drafts him. The current betting favorite to select Hunter is the Cleveland Browns who hold the No. 2 overall pick.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski raved about the star defensive back and wide receiver earlier this week.

“Well, not to get into all the specifics, but Travis is somebody that is uniquely equipped to do both,” Stefanski said. “You know, I remember having conversation with him about, there’s only so many hours in the day, so you’re going to have to meet extra with this coach or that coach, and he made a comment that he’s a fisherman. He gets up at five in the morning quite often, so that’s not a problem for him in terms of maximizing his day.”

Hunter is more than just an athlete, though. Before the draft kicks off his GPA at Colorado started making the rounds on social media.

The football star isn’t exactly sure his final grade point average, but it sits somewhere between 3.7 and 3.9.
