Trump admin live updates: Netanyahu at the White House for meeting with Trump

The Israeli PM is expected to discuss the war with Hamas and tariffs.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is at the White House on Monday to meet in the Oval Office with President Donald Trump. The two leaders are expected to talk about Israel’s war with Hamas and the tariffs that the U.S. imposed on virtually all of its trading partners, which have sent world markets reeling.

Trump did not respond to shouted questions from reporters on tariffs or the markets as he posed with Netanyahu after his arrival.

Meanwhile, Pam Bondi, Trump’s attorney general, said Sunday the president would “probably” leave the White House after his second term is completed, but she left the door slightly open toward him serving another four years, saying it would be a “heavy lift” to change the Constitution to allow Trump to serve another four years.

Netanyahu said he wanted to discuss the war with Hamas in Gaza as well as Trump’s tariffs in their meeting in the Oval Office.

Israel is a target of the administration’s “reciprocal” tariffs, getting hit with a 17% rate despite it moving ahead of Trump’s announcement last week to cancel all remaining tariffs on American imports.
