Max Verstappen took pole after a sensational final lap in qualifying, with Piastri’s McLaren teammate Lando Norris rounding out the front row in second.

Piastri is in the frame to at least claim his second podium finish of the year, although rain is forecast for Sunday’s race, which begins at 3pm AEST.
