WhatsApp users in Singapore report issues sending messages, uploading status

SINGAPORE – WhatsApp users in Singapore and around the world have reported facing issues sending messages through the app on the evening of April 12.

As at 10.30pm, there were 876 reports on Downdetector Singapore, which tracks outages by collating status reports from several sources. The number of reports previously spiked to 398 reports at 7.50pm.

Globally, about 1,644 reports were made as at 10.31pm.

News outlets in India have also reported that users in that country were unable to send messages of upload statuses.

On social media platform X, users who are based in India, Indonesia and Vietnam according to their location tags, said that they were affected by the outage. 

Many screenshots uploaded by users showed exclamation mark logos beside their messages, which indicate that the messages could not be delivered.
