White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt criticized e-commerce giant Amazon.com for reportedly planning to start displaying how much of an item’s cost is derived from tariffs. A Punchbowl News report said that figure would appear next to a product’s total price.

“This is a hostile and political act by Amazon,” Leavitt told reporters during a press briefing. She said she had just spoken with President Donald Trump about the matter.
