The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup Draw is tonight, and 16 teams, including the United States Men’s National Team, will learn who they will face in the group stage of the tournament. The biennial tournament kicks off on June 14th at SoFi Stadium in LA and concludes with the Gold Cup Final at NRG Stadium in Houston on July 6th.
The USMNT, as hosts and one of the top four teams in the Concacaf rankings, is a seeded team alongside Mexico, Canada, and Panama. The groups of the seeded teams were pre-determined, with Mexico (defending champions) being placed in Group A, Canada (2nd best team in Concacaf) in Group B, Panama (3rd best Concacaf team) in Group C, and the United States (4th best Concacaf team) in Group D.
The seeded teams are joined by 11 Concacaf teams who qualified for the tournament: Costa Rica, Curaçao, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad & Tobago. Saudi Arabia, an invited guest to the next two Concacaf Gold Cups, will round out the tournament’s field of 16.
The draw will be a double-blind system that involves 8 pots. The 16 teams will be placed into four pots based on their Concacaf rankings, with Saudi Arabia being placed into Pot 4:
Pot 1 – Mexico, Canada, Panama, United States
Pot 2 – Costa Rica, Jamaica, Honduras, Haiti
Pot 3 – Guatemala, Trinidad and Tobago, El Salvador, Suriname
Pot 4 – Guadeloupe, Curaçao, Dominican Republic, Saudi Arabia
Pots 5-8 will contain Group A, B, C, and D spheres. The draw will begin by drawing the pre-seeded teams in Pot 1 and their pre-assigned groups from Pot 5. Once those placements are confirmed, the draw will proceed with drawing the teams from Pot 2, with their group placement being determined by drawing from Pot 6. Pot 3 will be drawn into groups via Pot 7, and finally Pot 4 teams will be placed into groups via a draw from Pot 8.

Dates and venues for each match will be determined after the draw is complete. So, we’ll see who the USMNT will face in the group stage this summer in what is a pivotal tournament for the program.
