(Reuters) -Big Four accounting firm PwC is laying off about 1,500 employees in the United States, the Financial Times reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The layoffs amount to 2% of PwC’s 75,000 workforce in the U.S. and were concentrated mainly in its audit and tax businesses, the report said.
PwC did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
KPMG, PwC, EY and Deloitte make up the Big Four accounting firms.
In November last year, Reuters had reported that KPMG will lay off less than 4%, or about 330 people, of its audit workforce in the United States.
