Doc Rivers picks out talented Milwaukee Bucks who has really impressed him, ‘he’s just been great’

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated a patched up New Orleans Pelicans team to rack up their 46th win of the season.

A terrible 2-8 start to the NBA season feels a long time ago for the Milwaukee Bucks. The team have rallied, despite a challenging campaign, and have just secured a sixth successive win.

The victory over the New Orleans Pelicans was never in doubt. The Pelicans are just waiting for the season to end, with their star players shut down.

The Bucks won out 136-111, with star player Giannis Antetokounmpo only needing to play 26 minutes, managing to add 28 points in the process.

One of the Milwaukee Bucks’ big finds in recent weeks has been Kevin Porter Jr, who has played with real dynamism since being traded to the team from the LA Clippers.

Porter Jr was recently praised by Giannis Antetokounmpo, and he contributed 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the win over the Pelicans.

Doc Rivers noted that it was still an inefficient night for him as he went just 1-5 from three point range, but he is overall very happy with what Porter Jr is bringing to the team.

Rivers told a post game press conference: “He’s just been great, going downhill attacking, shooting the ball well, he didn’t shoot great tonight but overall he’s been shooting the ball well. That is a bonus for us.

“Him and GT [Gary Trent Jr] when they are in together, their hands defensively are incredible.”

Rivers also expressed that he was pleased to see Kyle Kuzma have 17 points, and sounded like he wants more from the former Wizards player.

He added: “We need to get him going.”

Kyle Kuzma spoke after the game to say he was pleased with the way the Milwaukee Bucks kept their concentration against a weak but determined Pelicans team.

“We just took care of our business, we didn’t play with our food tonight. Knowing they had a team that was down a lot of bodies, we knew they would come in and play free flowing basketball.

“We tightened up the screws in the second half, and we were able to finish the game well.”

Reflecting on the team’s winning run, he added: “Anytime you can win six in a row some things are going good for you.”
