Then, in game two, San Diego was able to bounce back to take a 2-0 victory on Tuesday at Comerica Park. Xander Bogaerts and Elíaz Díaz were able to cross home plate this time to secure the win away from home for the Padres.

Nick Pivetta started on the mound for the team from California in game two, going for seven innings and striking out six Detroit batters in that span.

The pitcher gave up just two hits, before being relieved by Jason Adam who gave up a hit of his own in his one inning on the mound. Finally, Robert Suárez kept the shutout alive in the final inning of the game.
