The Chicken Sisters brings the 2020 KJ Dell’Antonia book to life again with season two of this Hallmark Channel series premiering on Sunday. This family drama series stars Schuyler Fisk and Genevieve Angelson as the titular chicken sisters Amanda Moore-Hillier and Mae Moore. In the fictional town of Merinac, Kansas the Moore sisters run and operate a fried chicken restaurant while competing with another rival family’s similar business. While the book is fictional, it is loosely based on real life events from the author’s parent’s hometown and two fried chicken restaurants there. This series also co-stars Lea Thompson as Nancy Hillier and Margo Martindale as the narrator.

Thompson and Martindale are both veteran actresses and legends of the industry. Adding their names and talents to this series helps bring The Chicken Sisters to life. Thompson is most known for her role as Lorraine McFly in the Back to the Future franchise, as well as roles in Howard the Duck, Dennis the Menace, The Beverly Hillbillies and The Little Rascals.

Martindale has had roles in The Rocketeer, The Firm, Million Dollar Baby and most recently in Cocaine Bear. She is also a television veteran for her role as Camilla Figg in the Showtime series Dexter.
