Kumar Rocker, Jack Leiter to open 2025 season in Texas Rangers rotation

Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker will open the 2025 season in the starting rotation for the Texas Rangers.

President of baseball operations Chris Young made the announcement on Tuesday while revealing other opening day roster decisions, including Evan Carter being sent down to Triple-A Round Rock.

With Cody Bradford and Jon Gray out with injuries, the door opened for the two young prospects to fill in a bigger role, at least at the outset of the season.

Rocker and Leiter will join Nathan Eovaldi, Jacob deGrom and Tyler Mahle on the front line of the pitching staff.
