Despite being an exemplary athlete and role model, Lakers forward LeBron James is often chastised for his moves on and off the court. But no one can say James, the NBA’s all-time scoring leader and a four-time champion, doesn’t prioritize and protect his family.
Whether it means going to war with Stephen A. Smith over his son Bronny, or rappers mocking Savannah, his beloved wife of 11 years and mother to his three children, the NBA great is always there.
The trend continued over the weekend when influential rapper Kevin Gates called out Savannah during a series of Instagram posts.
“I don’t like the way Savannah look(s) at LeBron,” Gates explained before complimenting how “white women look at him.”
“You act like the warden of the jail like you came here to police me. You not d—-d out like these white women. I just couldn’t do it. It hurt me to see that,” he continued. “Man, you (should) dive on the floor behind that man.”
Gates suggested Savannah does not appreciate her luxurious lifestyle nor her all-world husband, who Gates feels provided it for her.
Nonetheless, LeBron, who will occasionally respond to tasteless jabs, defended his “Queen.”
“Kings don’t concern themselves with the opinions of peasants,” captioned LeBron on Sunday’s Instagram post featuring him being intimate with Savannah herself. “Where to next Queen?!?! Let’s get it!”
Savannah wasn’t too far behind. Per “The Shade Room,” she shared a clip of rapper Nicki Minaj saying “Um, chile anyways so” via her Instagram Story before sharing a post inferring her life is great despite the hate.
Gates quickly reacted to the blowback from Savannah and LeBron James, who Gates claims to “love.”
“The truth hurts, but it heals,” Gates, who has drama in his own relationship, said on video. “And Bron, I love you … But anyway, look, long as you’re being celebrated, I don’t care who don’t like me … So I don’t care if I got to fall out with somebody … We gon’ get the results. But if anybody need, I’m a life coach and a guru.”
