After a nearly two-month hiatus, the Bobby Portis Show was back on in Milwaukee.
And if the first episode is any indication, it’s can’t miss television for the remainder of the NBA spring season.
Portis’ return to action after a 25-game suspension due to use of a banned pain-killer for an elbow injury helped spark a you-had-to-see-it-to-believe-it fourth quarter comeback in the Bucks’ improbable 110-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night at Fiserv Forum.
Always a fan favorite due to his blue-collar style of play, Portis received a standing ovation when checking into the game with 5:26 remaining in the first quarter. He had played in just five games since Jan. 23.
It appeared that welcome would be the loudest cheers of the night as the Timberwolves led by as many as 24 points late in the third quarter and were spoiling the homecoming.

Then, suddenly, the Bucks, led by point guard Kevin Porter (21 points, five assists, five steals) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (23 points 13 rebounds, 10 assists), played with the same juice that an energized Portis brought to the floor.
The result was a 34-3 run by the Bucks to erase a 24-point deficit and an incredible 40-13 edge in the fourth quarter. Wait, what?
Portis finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds off the bench to help the Bucks win a fifth straight game.
Here’s some fan reaction to the incredible comeback and Portis’ return.
