ANAHEIM, Calif. — Perhaps everyone was stuck in line at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad down the street at Disneyland.
It’s as good a reason as any for why the good people of Orange County didn’t show up at Honda Center Wednesday night to watch their Ducks best the Bruins — two clubs destined for an early summer.
The Ducks took advantage of a reeling and shorthanded Bruins squad en route to a 6-2 victory.
Boston (30-34-9) has lost seven straight.
The Bruins were bitten by the same problems that have haunted them all season: a lack of shots, an anemic power play, and late-period breakdowns.
The Bruins barely made John Gibson sweat, landing just 25 shots on the Anaheim goalie — only nine coming in the first two periods. They gave up a shorthanded goal on their first power play, and after trimming the Ducks lead to 2-1, gave up a pair of goals in the final 2:03 of the second period.
