The Los Angeles Rams didn’t want to wait until free agency began to make a major move. They agreed to a two-year deal with Davante Adams on Sunday, giving the three-time All-Pro wideout $46 million – including $26 million guaranteed.
It’s a clear sign that the Rams are all-in for 2025, bringing back Matthew Stafford, Alaric Jackson and Tutu Atwell all before this Adams signing. And free agency hasn’t even started yet.
The wide receiver group needed a shakeup after Puka Nacua became the only reliable playmaker last season and the addition of Adams gives Stafford the WR2 he needed. In fact, he’s not even a WR2. He’s more like a WR1a.
The depth chart at wide receiver is going to look much different in 2025, with Cooper Kupp headed for a departure and Demarcus Robinson also unlikely to return. That leaves two-thirds of the starting receivers gone from 2024.
Here’s how the receiving corps looks as of now with more moves still to come.

Nacua and Adams can both line up outside or in the slot, which gives Sean McVay options. Adams may not be the blocker that Kupp is, but he’s just as versatile as a receiver.
Plus, Adams is a dominant red zone player who scored eight touchdowns in only 14 games last season, an area where the Rams struggled. This signing shouldn’t rule out a wide receiver at No. 26, either. It’s possible they’ll add someone like Matthew Golden or Emeka Egbuka in Round 1.
This receiving corps already looks different and it could continue to evolve as the offseason progresses.
