Shohei Ohtani best prop bet for Dodgers vs. Pirates on Saturday 4/26/25

Two teams headed in opposite directions are set to meet on Saturday in Los Angeles. The Dodgers, second in the NL West with a 16-10 record, will host Pittsburgh, currently 11-16. Nobody would consider the Pirates a title contender, but they did earn a 3-0 victory over LA on Friday. Now, reigning MVP Shohei Ohtani will hope to get things back on track for the defending World Series champions.

The Dodgers enter as heavy favorites (-285) vs. the Pirates on Saturday, with the over/under set at 8.5 runs. Before the start of tonight’s National League showdown, here’s my favorite Shohei Ohtani player prop bet on DraftKings Sportsbook.

The typically phenomenal Ohtani has gone into his first slump of the season. Over his last ten games, the superstar has hit just .190 with two home runs and three RBIs. That includes a disappointing 0-for-4 showing against Pirates ace Paul Skenes last night.

Pittsburgh is hoping Shohei’s cold streak continues when Mitch Keller takes the mound on Saturday. This season, the right-hander has recorded a 4.18 ERA, 20 strikeouts and a 1.36 WHIP over 28.0 innings pitched. Unfortunately for the Pirates, it’s only a matter of time until Ohtani returns to form.

Getting on base against a former All-Star is no easy task. Still, Ohtani has had success in this matchup before. In eight career at-bats vs. Keller, the Japanese slugger has driven in two home runs and three RBIs. That isn’t the most extensive sample size, but it’s also not something to ignore.

Part of what makes Ohtani such a good hitter is his combination of power and contact skills. Right now, he’s having difficulty doing the latter. However, writing off Showtime is foolish when facing an arm he’s taken deep on two different occasions. All it takes is one fly ball for Ohtani to rack up two total bases; expect this generational talent to do damage on Saturday.
