Massachusetts State Police said Tuesday that they arrested someone for violating the buffer zone around the Norfolk Superior Courthouse in Dedham, where the Karen Read murder trial is taking place.
Police said Bao Nguyen, 42, of Woburn, faced a charge of trespassing.
“This morning at approximately 8:30 a.m., State Police encountered a man lingering and filming within the buffer zone. Troopers requested that the man exit the buffer zone several times and explained the protocols and rationale of the Court. When the man did not exit the zone after several requests, Troopers arrested him for violating the order,” a release said.
State police said Nguyen wanted medical attention, which he received from Dedham EMS, before he was taken for booking at the Framingham Barracks.
The court ordered the buffer zone around the courthouse in the interest of ensuring a fair trial. During the first trial, chants, yelling and horns could be heard inside the courtroom.
Demonstrators have challenged it in federal court.
