Warriors React to Draymond Green Announcement on Wednesday

Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors are currently competing in the NBA playoffs, gaining momentum in the first round.

The Warriors picked up a 1-0 series lead against the Houston Rockets. They entered the NBA playoffs as the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference standings.

While Golden State matched up against the No. 2 seed in the West, experience plays a major role in determining the winner of the series.

One of the Warriors’ biggest stars, Draymond Green, made franchise history, highlighting the veteran group.

“Dray Playoff Basketball,” posted the official social media account of the Golden State Warriors. “Draymond Green is now the franchise’s all-time playoff games played leader.”

The Warriors have been led by Green, along with Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler throughout their run to the playoffs. Golden State traded for Butler ahead of the trade deadline and with that, is seemingly in position to compete for an NBA title.

In Game 1, Green helped the Warriors defeat the Rockets 95-85. The Defensive Player of the Year finalist posted four points, six rebounds and three assists.

So far this season, Green has averaged 9.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game. While he’s struggled to find a consistent offensive rhythm, Green hasn’t skipped a beat in terms of defensive contribution.

Green is listed as a finalist for DPOY along with Cleveland Cavaliers star Evan Mobley and Atlanta Hawks guard Dyson Daniels.

If the Warriors were to defeat the Rockets in the first round of the NBA playoffs, they would play the winner of the Los Angeles Lakers versus Minnesota Timberwolves series.
